Mother Teresa Joy Home (Home for Senior Citizens)
St. Mother Teresa focused her personal attention on the wellbeing of the old people who have been abandoned by their children. She has bestowed her time and energy to bring about transformation in their life through personal care. Her service to the poor has been main source of inspiration for our Foundation to launch a project under name and style "Mother Teresa Joy Home" for senior citizens who are clueless in their advanced age.
There are homes for senior citizens of elite society who can afford to bear the expenses on their own. Whereas there are innumerable number of poor people who loiter without proper support from their families and cannot afford to stay in paid homes.
In view of growing necessity for providing solace to such poor people we have decided to start free Home for poor senior citizens in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu for both men and women. We will provide all basic needs including food, shelter and medical aid free of cost to them. We have already purchased one acre of vacant land for this purpose in Gopal Nagar, Marunkulam Panchayat, Thanjavur. The proposed building will be having constructed area of roughly 10,000 sq.ft. in the ground floor and around 8,000 sq.ft. in the first floor. We are starting the construction work shortly.
In this home apart from normal accommodation, we shall be providing additional amenities such as meditation hall, recreation hall, library, yoga, dispensary for emergent medical needs and sprawling open area with greenery for fresh air and a conducive atmosphere. We shall provide parental care to them so that loneliness which normally torment them will not be felt. When the ground floor is completed we shall accommodate 50 people and as and when the first floor is built we will accommodate additional 50 people thus bringing the overall strength to 100 in two phases.

The Mother Teresa Educational Program
Following the lines enshrined in the doctrines of Mother Teresa "Remove the educational poverty among the student community..." Our Foundation provides financial assistance to academically proficient but economically poor students to pursue higher studies after completing their high school education as day scholars. Both boys and girls studying in medical, engineering, arts & sciences, paramedical and other courses benefit under this program. These students who have enormous potential, continually prove their worth academically. And this is evidenced by their performance evaluation reports. We hope this would pave way for deserving students to fulfil their academic aspirations, overcoming financial constraints.
This program was launched in 2011 to provide educational assistance to those that cannot afford it. In total, we have helped 800+ students during two academic years. The foundation takes care of their entire school fee, hostel fees (if any) and school related expenses such as books, stationery etc. This is not restricted to any one school or college. We also would like to take this chance to acknowledge the support of various schools and colleges that helped us provide this service to the needy.
You can help towards this program by donating any amount you wish which will be utilised towards providing scholarships and financial assitance to children's education by clicking here
