To commemorate the birth centenary of Mother Teresa, Foundation stone for Mother Teresa Anbu Illam (Orphanage), measuring 4000sqft. at an estimated cost of INR 40 lacs, was laid by Mr.S. Balasubramaniam, MD & CEO of City union bank ltd., and blessed by Most.Rev.Dr. Devadass Ambrose, Bishop of Thanjavur on 25.08.2010 in the presence of Mr.S.S. Rajkumar, Advocate Mr. Panthal Siva, Industrialist, Mrs.J.Mathimalar, Panchat union president, Kavignar Ezhilventhan, Rev. Fr. K.O. Louis Parish Priest.

Centenary Celebrations

As a part of several programs organized to commemorate the birth centenary of Mother Teresa, our Foundation distributed 10000 books written by our managing trustee to students in 19 schools free of cost and conducted examination. 260 students were awarded cash prizes, books and merit certificates for their outstanding performance in the examination during the centenary celebrations.

As a part of Mother Teresa birth centenary celebrations cricket tournament was conducted in which 10 teams participated. The winners have been awarded Mother Teresa Centenary Memorial Cup on 25.08.2010.

Awakening Program on Mother Teresa

As a part of Centenary Celebrations about 10,000 students from 19 schools participated in the examination. The Students securing first 3 places from each school are to be awarded suitably for their performance. Consolation awards for the next 10 places are also to be distributed. The school managements are to be honored for their spontaneous response to our request on 25th August during Centenary Celebrations.

Proposed new building for orphanage

The Foundation plans to construct a 4000 sq.ft building for Mother Teresa, Anbu IIIam (Orphanage) in Madhakottai, Thanjavur, at an estimated cost of Rs. 40,00,000/- (Forty Lacs) to accommodate more children under a conducive atmosphere.
