On 10th July Magic Show by Magician Abdullah was arranged in Anbu Illam to enthuse the children. Two hour long program kept the children spellbound. Children enjoyed every moment of this fascinating show.

Orientation program in Anbu illam

As a part of Mother Teresa Educational program, our Foundation has planned to organize orientation program every Sunday to enthuse the children of Anbu Illam to start with and to expand the same to cover the day scholar beneficiaries shortly.
This program was inaugurated on 03.07.2011 and Mrs. Punitha Ganesan Educationist and secretary of Bharath college of Science and Management, Thanjavur conducted the program which benefited around 70 children of the Home. In her inspiring speech she gave many valid tips which would shape the future of the children and pave way for betterment in the field of education.
She has also assured maximum help to the foundation for the educational program. The children interacted with her freely and got their doubts clarified. The chief guest gave a patient hearing which promoted the self confidence of the children shunning their complex which had under mined their potentials due to social and economic constraints.
Rtn. A. Savarimuthu, Managing Trustee thanked the chief guest for conducting the day long workshop and motivated the children.

The construction of new building for Mother Teresa Anbu Illam started in Feb 2011 has reached the roof stage and the ground floor is likely to be ready by Aug 2011 for occupation. On completion the building can accommodate 100 boys.

Mother Teresa Anbu Illam has been fortunate to have more intake of boys this year. The strength of which has increased to 40 to 70 boys. All this boys irrespective of religion and caste mingle with brotherly affection. Their enthusiasm is evident from the smiles their faces adorn.
with the new building likely to be functional by August their will be dramatic change in the environment which would be highly condusive and devoide of infrastructural constrains our foundation remembers our donors and well wishers at this juncture.

The construction of own building for Mother Teresa anbu Illam was started in Feb at Madhakottai, Thanjavur. The building has reached the roof stage as could be seen by the photo. Efforts are on to complete the ground floor and the portion of first floor in Aug. to make the new building functional to benefit around 100 boys. It is our intension to make our donors to know about the latest stage for the construction as their support is responsible for realisation for our long cherished project

Mother Teresa Educaional Program

This year under Mother Teresa Educational program our foundation extends full financial assistance for 10 Engineering student and 30 students of Arts & Science colleges who are poor but proficient on the academic side to pursue their ambitious courses.

In addition about 100 students are given assistance at school level. This program attracts large number of deserving students and our foundation hopes to full fill their desire. The success of the program is the result of the support been given by well wishers.

Boys in Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal

During their 2 day long tour of Madurai, the boys visited among many important Historical sites the architecturally well known Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal built in 17th century. This Palace was built with the help of an Italian Architect and is a classic fusion of Dravidian, Islamic and European styles. The building built during the reign of Thirumalai Nayak, of Nayak dynasty which can be seen today, was the main Palace where the king lived. The boys had shown keen interest to know about the cultural heritage from the various tableaux erected in the building for the information of visitors.

Our Foundation organized 2 day picnic to Madurai, wellknown cultural centre of Tamil Nadu in May 2011 for 40 children of Mother Teresa Anbu Illam (Orphanage). The holiday tour was sponsored by Rtn. PHF. K. Lakshmanan. The boys in enjoyable mood in "Athisayam Theme park". It is a very unique experience for the children.

Sacred Ascendancy of Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa Joined the Loreto Novitiate on May 23, 1929 and gave her first profession on 25.05.1931 at the age of 21 after very strenuous and rigorous training. From then she was known as Sister Teresa. We remember this Holy Day as Mother Teresa was closer to God in the service of Humanity.
Mother Teresa took her final vows on 14.05.1937 and became a nun while she was teaching at the Loreto Convent School in Eastern Calcutta. This day is another landmark in the illustrious life of the legend Mother Teresa and we are duty bound to remember this sacred day.

Dream Comes True....

Our long cherished desire to construct our own building to house Mother Teresa Anbu Illam (orphanage) has taken shape. The foundation stone for the building measuring 8000 sqft consisting of ground floor and first floor was laid in August 2010 to mark the Birth Centenary of Mother Teresa. It is planned to complete ground floor by the end of June 2011 coinciding with the beginning of the next academic year. The building is in a prime locality facing the main road. The progress of construction is on right track as per schedule with the support of our well wishers. Day is not far off for our children to enjoy the comforts of the new building.

Steadfast faith in dignity of Labor

Love has no barriers. It creates spirit of oneness. Whether it is delicate show of love or strenuous effort in hot sun, Mr. Greg left no stone unturned to demonstrate during his three week voluntary service in Mother Teresa Anbu Illam along with Mr. Tim. He adapted himself to our work culture and created indelible impact in the minds of local labour.

Birthday Celebration of Mr. Tim

The 30th birthday of Tim, volunteer from Belgium which happened to fall during his stay by providential coincidence was celebrated with gay and gaiety in Anbu Illam. The children of the home enthusiastically participated in the celebration and made the guests feel at home through their touch of love and affection. Dancing by the children in the company of the overseas volunteers followed by traditional south Indian dinner were the highlights of the celebration. Rtn. A. Savarimuthu, the chairman of the foundation organised the celebration under his personal care in the traditional Indian way.
